About This Training

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Training teaches participants how to recognize and respond to the warning signs of a suicide crisis. Similar to CPR, QPR equips everyday people with practical skills to respond when someone may need help, including how to ask about suicide, offer hope, and connect them with appropriate support and resources.

What You’ll Learn

As a certified QPR Gatekeeper, participants will learn:

  • To recognize the warning signs of suicide
  • To increase awareness of stigma and understand suicide as a public health issue
  • How to offer hope
  • How to access local and national resources

What You’ll Get

1.5 CEUs through the Connecticut Certification Board upon completion.

About This Training

Everyday Mentoring equips caring adults with practical skills to build stronger, more intentional relationships with young people through everyday interactions. Participants explore how trust, belonging, active listening, and consistent support can strengthen connections with youth and create environments where young people feel seen, valued, and supported.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role caring adults can play as Everyday Mentors in schools, programs, and community settings.
  • Identify characteristics and practices that support strong, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Apply practical mentoring skills, including active listening, recognizing youth strengths and interests, and helping young people navigate challenges.
  • Recognize how personal assumptions, biases, and boundaries can influence adult-youth relationships.
  • Identify strategies for responding to challenging behaviors while maintaining supportive and appropriate relationships.
