Deterra Pouches Can Save a Life

DID YOU KNOW?

Young people whose parents talk to them about the dangers of drugs are 50% less likely to use than their peers.

Why It Matters

Too many families in Connecticut have lost loved ones to opioids. Often, it started with a few leftover pills in a cabinet. By using this pouch, you’re protecting your family — and helping prevent tragedy in your community. The Governor’s Prevention Partnership is committed to equipping and empowering families to protect young people from substance use.

Three simple things you can do TODAY:

Safely deactivate and dispose of your unused medications within the Deterra pouch.

Have honest conversations with young people about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Add naloxone to your home first aid kits to use in the event of an overdose

Funding for this project was made possible through the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services through the Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee.
